How to Style the Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG Original order?

So, I’ve been seeing this YSL June Box Bag everywhere lately, and I just had to get my hands on it. But you know how it is with these designer bags – they cost a fortune! So I thought, why not try to remake one myself? I mean, how hard could it be, right?

First things first, I needed to find some materials. I went to a few local craft stores and managed to find some pretty decent-looking black leather. It wasn’t exactly the same as the original YSL one, but it was close enough, and it didn’t break the bank. I also picked up some gold-colored hardware, like the clasps and buckles, to match the real thing.

Next, I had to figure out the actual construction of the bag. I spent hours looking at pictures of the June Box Bag online, trying to get a sense of the dimensions and how all the pieces fit together. It definitely took some trial and error, and let me tell you, my first few attempts were… rough, to say the least. But I kept at it, cutting, sewing, and basically just winging it until I had something that resembled a box bag.

  • Getting the shape right: This was the hardest part. The June Box Bag has this really specific structured shape, and getting the leather to hold that shape was a real challenge. I ended up using some cardboard to reinforce the sides and bottom, which helped a lot.
  • Attaching the hardware: This was a bit tricky too. I had to punch holes in the leather and then carefully attach the clasps and buckles. I messed up a few times and had to redo it, but eventually, I got the hang of it.
  • Lining the bag: I wanted the inside of the bag to look nice too, so I found some black satin fabric and sewed it into a lining. This was actually one of the easier parts of the whole process.

After many, many hours of work, I finally had my very own YSL June Box Bag “inspired” bag. Okay, it’s not perfect. There are a few wonky seams, and the leather isn’t as luxurious as the real deal, but you know what? I’m pretty darn proud of it. It’s got that same classic, chic vibe as the original, and it didn’t cost me thousands of dollars.

The final touch was adding the iconic YSL logo. I found a similar-looking metal piece online and attached it to the front of the bag. And there you have it – my very own, handmade (and much cheaper) version of the YSL June Box Bag. It might not fool a die-hard YSL fan, but it sure fooled my friends!

Honestly, the whole process was a lot more work than I anticipated, but it was also really fun and rewarding. And hey, now I have a cute new bag to show off, and I can say I made it myself. Who knows, maybe this will be the start of my own little handbag-making empire!
