Want a High Imitation Rolex New Green Submariner? Classic Style That Looks Real, But Costs Way Less

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this watch, trying to make a really good fake of that Rolex New Green Submariner, the classic style. You know, the one everyone wants but is super hard to get your hands on? I’ve always been into watches, and the idea of making my own version of this iconic piece just got me hooked.

I started by, like, really staring at tons of pictures and videos of the real deal. I mean, I was looking at every tiny detail—the way the bezel clicks, the shade of green on the dial, the way the hands move, everything. I needed to get this thing down perfectly if I wanted it to look even remotely legit.

Then came the fun part—sourcing the parts. I was all over the internet, checking out different suppliers, comparing prices, and trying to find the best quality stuff I could get without breaking the bank. I ended up ordering a bunch of different parts from a few different places, just to see what worked best. It was a lot of trial and error, honestly. Some parts were just trash, but some were surprisingly good for the price.

  • Case: This was the hardest part. I went through like three different cases before I found one that had the right weight and feel.
  • Movement: I wasn’t gonna splurge on a real Swiss movement, obviously, so I got a decent automatic movement from a Chinese manufacturer. It keeps time pretty well, which is what matters.
  • Dial and Hands: These were easier to find. I got a dial that was a pretty close match to the real Submariner’s green, and the hands were almost identical.
  • Bezel: The bezel was tricky. I wanted that ceramic look and that satisfying click when you rotate it. Took me a while to find one that fit the case and had the right feel.
  • Bracelet: I found a stainless steel bracelet that was a pretty good replica of the Rolex Oyster bracelet. It’s not perfect, but it’s close enough.

Once I had all the parts, it was time to put this bad boy together. Now, I’m no watchmaker, but I’ve tinkered with watches before. I watched a bunch of videos online and got some basic watchmaking tools. It was a bit nerve-wracking, to be honest. I didn’t want to mess up any of the parts, especially since some of them weren’t cheap.

I started by putting the movement into the case. That was probably the most delicate part of the whole process. Then came the dial and hands, which was a little easier. The bezel was next, and it took some fiddling to get it to snap on just right. Finally, I attached the bracelet, and there it was—my own “Rolex” Submariner.

Result

I gotta say, I was pretty stoked with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, of course. A real watch expert would be able to spot the differences in a heartbeat. But to the average person? It looks pretty damn close. And that’s what I was going for. It’s got the weight, the look, and the feel of a real Submariner, and it keeps time pretty accurately. I’ve been wearing it around, and I’ve even gotten a few compliments on it. No one’s called me out on it being a fake yet! I might try to make a few more of these, maybe even sell them. I mean, who wouldn’t want a Submariner for a fraction of the price? We’ll see. For now, I’m just enjoying my little creation.
