RemakePRADA Small Prada Galleria Bag: Where to Buy It From the Official Store?

Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag from the official flagship store for a while now. I finally took the plunge and decided to remake it myself. It looked like a fun project, and I was curious to see if I could do it. I’ve always loved the classic look of this bag.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to gather all the materials. I started by looking up the bag on the Prada website. They say it’s made of “Saffiano” leather, which I found out is a textured leather that’s pretty durable. I found a similar kind of leather at a local craft store. I also bought some sturdy fabric for the lining, some metal hardware like the zippers and buckles, and some strong thread. I went to the store and got a bunch of these things.

The Process

I started by making a pattern. I took measurements of the bag from the pictures online and sketched out the different pieces on some paper. I carefully measured everything, like, ten times to make sure it was all correct. Then, I cut out the leather and the lining fabric according to my pattern. This was the most nerve-wracking part because I didn’t want to mess up the expensive leather.

Next, I started sewing. I used my trusty old sewing machine to stitch the leather pieces together. I had to go slow and be extra careful to keep the stitches straight. It was tough, cause the leather was thick. And sewing the lining fabric was way easier, thankfully.

After the main body of the bag was done, I attached the hardware. The zippers were a bit tricky, but I managed to get them in. It was a little hard, but I did it. I also added the little Prada logo thingy that I made out of some scrap metal. It actually looked pretty good!

The Final Touches

The last step was adding the handles and the shoulder strap. I sewed them on securely, making sure they could handle the weight of the bag. I double and triple checked everything to make sure it was all solid.

  • Made the pattern by looking at pics online.
  • Cut the leather and lining.
  • Sewed the leather together with my old machine.
  • Attached the zippers and hardware, which was kinda tough.
  • Sewed on the handles and strap.

The Result

And there you have it, my homemade version of the Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty darn proud of it. It looks like a decent bag and it feels sturdy. I think it turned out pretty good for a first attempt! I even used it to go to the grocery store the other day, and it held up just fine. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot. Maybe I’ll try making another bag sometime, who knows? But for now, I’m happy with my new bag. It felt great to make something with my own hands. It is not exactly the same as the one from the official store, but it’s mine.
